On 18 January 2019 it‘s that time again! Experience with us the most traditional Austrian Ball in the beautiful Vienna Hofburg.

It’ll be a wonderful evening, experience the 87th ball of the officers. Different uniforms, colorful ball gowns and exquisite floral decorations will shine the 23 ballrooms.

Imperial ambience – the Hofburg Palace

For over 600 years, Hofburg Palace, located at the heart of Vienna, was not only the centre of the Habsburg Empire, but also the main residence of the Imperial family. The oldest sections of the building complex date back to the 13th century and were gradually expanded. The “Old Palace”, for example, served Field Marshall Radetzky (1766-1858) as a residence. Unlike numerous other residences, Vienna’s Imperial Palace is not a homogeneous building: It is a monument that developed in the course of centuries, appearing today as a building complex made up of a seemingly chance blend of architectural styles.

Hofburg är ett palats i Wien, Österrike. Det är ett före detta kejserligt residens. Från 1438 till 1583 och från 1612 till 1806 var det säte för kungar och kejsare av det Tysk-romerska riket och därefter säte för den österrikiske kejsaren fram till 1918. Idag är Hofburg det officiella sätet för Österrikes president. Det var Habsburgarnas huvudsakliga vinterbostad, medan Schönbrunn utanför staden var sommarbostaden.

Hofburg har byggts om och moderniserats över århundradena och innehåller bland annat kapell, museer, kejserliga biblioteket (Hofbibliothek, numera Prunksaal), skattkammaren (Schatzkammer, med riksregalierna), nationalbiblioteket, nationalteatern (Burgtheater) och Spanska ridskolan (Hofreitschule).
